EPLAMID 66 compounds are widely used in automotive under-the-hood applications because they offer an excellent balance of thermal and mechanical properties, together with long-term heat and hydrolysis resistance. EPLAMID 66 is a high-performance material developed for demanding industrial applications. This reinforced polyamide 66 compound contains 30% glass fiber and is resistant to hydrolysis and hot oils. Having successfully passed extensive hydrolysis testing, the material provides extended service life and high reliability in automotive components and electrical connectors. The material has successfully received OEM approval and is currently in serial production, demonstrating its proven performance and reliability under real-world automotive operating conditions. It is particularly well suited for quick connectors, water inlet and outlet housings, and other coolant-carrying functional parts exposed to coolant media, where it delivers outstanding durability, stability, and safety within engine systems. This gives both manufacturers and end users long-term confidence.
The charts in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 present the results of the glycolysis tests carried out during the material approval process, confirming the material's outstanding hydrolysis resistance and compliance with stringent automotive performance requirements.
